2nd Week in June - The work has begun!

My house has looked like this for the past 39 years. . .

and this!  On Monday that began to change.

Thanks to all our family members who spent Monday scraping off the shingles and tar paper and pulling off the deteriorating fascia.  Thanks to Greg who stuck with Dad from morning to night and kept him from falling off the roof.  Thanks to Misty who cooked dinner for us all.

Thanks to our good friend and his nephew who rebuilt the eaves and fascia and added new eaves on three parts of the house.  Tuesday there were dark, threatening clouds--but it never rained on us.

Tuesday night and we are all ready for the new roof!

Wednesday morning

The tar paper is attached and the shingles are ready to go.  After 25 years we're getting a new roof.  STAY TUNED!
