Our last day - farewell to P.R.

The last 24 hours in Puerto Rico we finally got some downtime to spend on the hotel's mile long beach which is on the Atlantic Ocean.  We searched for sand dollars and wandered both ways from the hotel.  It is a beautiful beach and the sand was very nice.  We met a man who was building a "logo" sand castle--perhaps for advertisement.  He even had special tools to carve out the sand.

The view straight out from the hotel.  There are those shorts again.

Looking north up the beach.
We had a departure party in the evening at a ranch in the foothills of the rain forest.  The place had a huge bowery which was up about six steps and had fireplaces, seating areas, serving areas, a patio for dancing and a lot of room for our group of 180.  It was all lit up with the kind of small lights we use at home at Christmas time.

They had a collection of wooden horses like this one--the kind you might see on a merry-go-round.

Here's one of the fireplaces and seating areas.  This is all outdoors with a roof over the entire thing.

Here are some of our dinner partners.

Our last morning we roamed the beach again and found a couple of sand dollars.  The windows behind me are the restaurant where we ate breakfast every morning.  We saw these "friendly" iguanas just before we went to breakfast.  As I got closer to the bush on the right, I counted at least 12 of them. The bush had more inside because it was shaking and making noise, but I could not see them.

A closeup of some of our friends.

This guy was on the railing by the restaurant.  I suppose they had all come out to sun themselves, or maybe it was to bid us farewell.
