How many things can a two year old get into in twenty minutes?

I found the answer to that one myself this morning.
I was calmly working on the computer.  There was the noise of things falling in the kitchen.

Gramma:  "T--do we need to pick up the crayons again?"
T: "No Gramma, come see what Reyn did!!!"
Gramma runs to find that Reyn has pushed the stool over to the counter, climbed up on the stool, climbed up on the counter, found Gramma's 7-day supply of pills (and other things, but the pills are most important here), dropped Gramma's pills all over the floor and is back down again running away.
Gramma panics--did Reyn eat any of the pills???? (seven days worth is a lot of pills)
Gramma picks up the pills and begins counting to see if they are all there.
While counting, Gramma thinks to give Reyn a big sippy cup full of juice in case she did take pills and they need to be watered down.
Four pills are missing!!  Gramma calls Poison Control.
Baby Reyn may have eaten Tylenol, high cholesterol medicine and 2 tablets of Gramma's hot flash pills--what should Gramma do?
The very nice man calmly asks questions and soon tells Gramma that Reyn will be OK.
Just watch her.  The hot flash pills may make her tired.  The nice man will call back in an hour to check.
Gramma is slightly relieved.
Crash!  Reyn drops her cup almost full of juice.  (Those of you with small children will know how far a cup of juice will go.)
Gramma rescues Reyn from the puddle of juice, takes off her clothes and puts her on a stool.
Gramma attempts to clean up said juice while Reyn scrambles down from said stool and continually bumps and runs into Gramma thinking that it is really funny that Gramma is down on the floor.
Gramma rinses out towels and towels and more towels in the sink--Wait!!! There are two soggy pills in the sink!  They are two of Gramma's missing pills!  Whew!
Gramma continues to work on the floor, while attempting to keep R and T out of the puddle.
Gramma finally finishes the floor, dresses R again, and calms down.  It has been 20 minutes.

So what is the answer to the question at the top?  The answer is "too many."

The very nice man calls back in an hour and Gramma explains that she found two more pills and that only the 2 hot flash pills were missing.  The very nice man asked if Reyn was acting OK and Gramma said yes.
The very nice man did not laugh out loud at Gramma before he hung up.  That's why he was a very nice man.

By the way, Reyn didn't act tired at all.
Also, she shouldn't have any hot flashes for the next two days--that's already covered.

  2. My goodness Gramma! You have your hands full! And I wonder what Reyn would do if she had a hot flash... :) Keep on keeping on!

  3. I think most of your worries would dissappear if you purchased a ball pit, and some soft playground equipment, surrounded by a cage. Then, position Reyn inside, wind her up and let 'er go for a few hours.
