The flood

We had what was termed a 50 year storm on September 7.  The rain was so hard and the wind so powerful that our basement windows were no match for the deluge.  We had three rooms in the basement affected, as did Mike's house across the street.  There were at least 10 houses on our street that had damage and many more throughout our stake.  After seeing others that had worse flooding than ours, we were grateful we were able to handle it.

This picture doesn't capture how hard the rain was, but it does show that the water was overflowing the rain gutters.

Thank heavens for the shop vac and buckets for bailing.
