The Trip to Provence - Greoux Les Bains

There comes a time when you miss the children and grandchildren so much that you just have to go see them--even if they live in France.  After an overnight flight to Paris and a two-hour flight to Marseilles, we were greeted by Mike and Soph who drove us the 80 km to their home in Greoux les Bains in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeast France.  Greoux is an ancient Roman town with thermal baths (thus the "les Bains" in the name) in the hills beside the Verdon river. The hot springs are still there and people come from all over on "medical leave" prescribed by their doctors to enjoy them. The population is between 2500-3000.
You go up the hill on a small, steep, one-lane road to find the entrance to M & M's house.  Here they are at their mailbox.  The road is at the left and continues on to other houses.
Their driveway is at the left.  The driveway at the right winds to another house.
The view from the bottom of the driveway.
The view from the bottom of the property.  The driveway (not shown) is at the left.
J and his friendly (and very old) dog, Guiton, who loves to play.  Guiton came with the house.
Downtown Greoux.  This is a walking street--no cars allowed!
M & M bringing home the baguette from the local boulangerie (bakery).
A local restaurant with pink penguins.  Mike is eating my favorite from the boulangerie--a pastry with chocolate in it.
J took Grandpa on a tour of the town.
The main square (although it's not square) with the fountain at the left.
A view of Greoux looking to the "castle" at the top of the hill.  The castle is used for outdoor movies and dances.
The Greoux Catholic church.
