This was a Practical Party not a Bridal Shower

I've never really liked the "shower" event--bridal or baby, so we went for something practical. Everyone was supposed to bring a favorite main dish recipe and the ingredients for Carin and Jeff. Some went further and brought utensils and others brought more than one recipe. We had them put on their new aprons to open the gifts (a sign to Jeff that he, too, is responsible for cooking).





Besides, when you get relatives together for a party you can get away with a lot more stuff--we brought out pictures of Jeff as a baby and on up that Carin had never seen.
