Segovia, Spain

Segovia is famous for its Roman aquaduct, built 200 BC.  They tested it a few years ago and it still works.

Standing in front of the moat for the Alcazar of Segovia.

No mortar was used in the building of the aquaduct.

The Alcazar of Segovia has been a fortress, a royal palace, a prison, a military academy and is now a museum.

They started training the knights when they were young.

These wooden statues represent all the kings that fought in a 200 year war.

Ferdinand and Isabella, who sent Columbus on his journey, lived here at one time.

We ate at this restaurant next to the aquaduct famous for its "sucking pig."  The man in the center is the current owner beginning the ceremony. He reads a proclamation, cuts the pig with the white plate, then breaks the plate on the floor.

The "sucking pig" is very tender.  These are the remnants of the part of the pig that was served to Wayne.
