Vienna, Austria with Anna and Sophie - Day 1

In front of the Neue Berg section of the Hofburg Palace

We attended a morning practice at the Spanish Riding School to see the Lipizzan stallions work out.

The girls and I in front of St. Stephan's cathedral.

Inside St. Stephan's cathedral

In front of Karlskirche - St. Charles Church.  We came back in the evening to attend a concert there.

Sophie eating goulash with Roger Minert (our friend, neighbor, and guide for the day) at the open air Naschmarkt.  The goulash was yummy!

The statue of Marie Theresia  between the Natural History Museum and the Art History Museum. Marie had 16 children and reigned for 40 years in the 1700s.

In front of the Art History Museum

Inside Karlskirche where we returned in the evening for a concert of  Vivaldi, Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Bach and Handel performed by a chamber orchestra, a wonderful soprano and a killer violinist.
