Vienna, Day 2

On the shores of the "blue" Danube

The girls with our guide for the day, Jeanne Minert.

Inside the 2nd tallest ferris wheel in Europe--the Wiener Riesenrad (Vienna giant wheel) at Prater Amusement Park.

Looking out at Vienna from the giant wheel

I'm afraid of heights.  My reaction to being at the top of the wheel--channeling Edvard Munch's "The Scream" which was on posters all over Vienna.

Safely on the ground again!

Anna and Sophie riding on the Prater Tower.  At 117 meters, it is the world's highest flying swing.

After all those heights, we deserved a Vienna sausage dog!

The Hundertwasserhaus, named after an Austrian artist who conceived the idea.  It features undulating floors, an earth and grass covered roof and large trees growing from inside the rooms.

Jeanne also took us to some thrift stores in the area where Anna found some clothes.  For dinner, we went back to the Minert's apartment and had crepes.  YUM!
